Walk Somonauk from the depot out toward Route 34 and you pass a century of building. Original painted timber and old aluminium siding near the middle of the village, then newer vinyl on the streets at the edges. They do not want the same treatment.
Old painted wood and chalky aluminium get a genuine soft wash: low pressure, the right mix, and the growth lifted chemically rather than blasted off. Put a high pressure wand on an old painted board and you will be looking at a repaint, not a clean. Newer vinyl handles more, but water forced up behind a panel still ends up inside the wall.
Somonauk is also far enough west that most of the Aurora and Naperville outfits will not route a truck out here for a single house. Caleb will, because he is coming down Route 34 anyway.
